Gold Canyon – Dinosaur Kwamie Lassiter and Korry Gantt dominated the A-Flight with a score of 56. Per Korry, we ham and egged all day and that was what it took to win. I didn't know what the heck he was talking about so I asked Kwamie. Per Kwamie, Korry was late and barely made it to the first hole before tee. The reason for the lateness was he stopped at IHOP, ate ham and eggs for breakfast then had the o'dasity to say he ran out of gas. I asked Ben who is a Valley Victorian what o'dasity meant and he said that to be o'dasity meant that you have a lot of something or you're full of it. Frank Armenta and Tracy Colin won the B- Flight with a score of 56. The only thing I can say about this team is that they are like the Annual Partee Newsletter. They are the guerillas of golf who strike when least expected, then slink back in to the darkness of night. Yes club members, you can definitely say that your newsletter slinked to the lowest for two months, but now were back, bigger and better than ever. How about that C-Flight with Andy Christie and Kevin (Cap) Williams winning with an excellent score of 57? How about Cap in his kung fu stance imitating a one-eyed snake preparing to strike? Andy and Cap have never been partners, but in their long and hard journey in the annuals of partee golf, they found a trust in each others skills to ham and egg their way into the winning column. The jealous folks only saw that what was long and hard for both Andy and Cap was second grade. Paul Ruth / Stewart Bates, I got your 5th place winnings. Get it from me at the next tournament. |
Next Tournament Over 90 expected to play The Legend at Arrowhead on September 24th. Read President Ed communication regarding this tournament. The true legend at Arrowhead is Denny Andrew who lives on the course and invites all to party at his house afterwards. 19th Hole: The Annual Partee bids farewell to Harley and Barbara Cogswell who moved to Durango Colorado. Harley is a member of the “circle of friends” that provides power and direction the Annual Partee club. After the tournament, Harley was last seen riding his Suzuki towards the Rocky Mountain. Happy hunting Harley, and don't eat the oysters raw. Todd Minder had problems with his golf game as his hand was limp from too many wrist bending exercises. Then Jim Enia's errant golf ball found Todd's hand as he was drinking fufu juice with his little pinky sticking out. End result, Todd started to play half decent golf as his hand became swollen and stiff. Todd's partner Greg Canoy kept trying to hit Todd's other hand hoping for complete game from his partner. Jenny Tobin and partner Dennis Richards were already counting their chickens as their score of 57 was looking good early on. But the club's Dell Laptop computer re-added the score and came up with 60. Obviously we had to go with 60 because the computer is expensive. Jenny and Dennis may have been pissed, but we'll say that they are passionate about the game of golf. |

A word from President Ed Anderson:      Fellow Club Members, Please note a change for our November tournament. I moved the Johnson Ranch tournament to November. The Annual Par Tee is headed to The Legend at Arrowhead in Glendale on September 24th, with 7:00am shotgun start. The green fee is $30 exclusive which include range balls and cart fee. Denny Andrew has a home on the course and he says the course is in great shape. Watch for details on our website.      I just want to say a few words about our last tournament at Dinosaur Mountain at Gold Canyon. It was Challenging, fun, and we had a great time.      Finally, I would like to say a special “Thank You” and hearty farewell to Harley and Barbra Cogswell who moved to Durango Colorado immediately after the Dinosaur tournament. Harley and Barb have been members of the Annual Partee Club for well over six years. Harley was a very important contributor to the club's success as he was responsible for all tournament successes from beginning to end. Harley and Barb plan to come back to play in some of the tournaments, especially the one in Casa Grande if it's scheduled around their anniversary. We will start looking for a replacement for Harley immediately. Please go to the club's website www.annualpartee.com and send a note to Sam Owen indicating that you are interested in taking over Harley's job in managing the tournaments. Thank You and God Bless. Ed. Letters to Sam Owen - Note to club members, you can now send your questions and/or concerns to Sam simply by going to the club's website and follow the simple instructions.

Dear Sam, I thought you were gone and replaced by somebody better (Shorty Lisp) as I haven't heard from you in two months. Never mind that now because I have something important to say. I want to take over Harley's job so let me know when to start. Signed – Qualified.
