Results at Gold Canyon:
What a way to finish up the year!! It was a perfect fall day and Sidewinder was in excellent shape; a good time was had by all. And, to help get us ready for all that turkey on Thanksgiving, we all got a little exercise with it being cart path only – some of us got a lot more than others.

The A-flight was won by a couple of the ParTee League players – Cos Iannelli and Bob Mansolillo with a score of 55. Second place went to Robinson Crusoe and Nolan Jones also with a 55. Fifth place was won with a 65 by Gene Forman and Joe Shelly.

Our own Sol Vaita and Ben Cartago teamed up to win the B-flight with a low score of 54. That was good enough to win the side action as well. Second place went to Meau Bell and Edwin Frazier. Melinda and John Hausner won fifth place with a respectable 60.

Meau also get the award for traveling the farthest to play in our tournament – all the way from Chicago. Denny's girlfriend Pam gets credit for coming from Iowa, but since she was only a spectator, she only gets half credit.

The husband & wife team of Karen Behrens and Paul Thomforde were back on top of the C-Flight with a score of 59. Second place was won by Dennis Richards and Jenny Tobin with a 61. And, rounding out the C-Flight was Kevin Williams and Bob Turner shooting a 62.

There was a mix up in the C-Flight scoring due to an incorrect score being entered in the computer for one of the holes. We announced

that Marc Postovit and Roger Scott got second, but that was incorrect. Thank you for your honesty and passing the honor and money on to Jenny and Dennis. That is great example of the type of people who participate each month.

Last place was won by Eric Pelc and James Beamon with a high of 82. Alex and Danny gave it their best, but did suck quite that bad – next year guys. Low Gross was won with a 72 by Michael Wysner – great job!!

A word from the President

If you missed the V.O.I.C.E and Annual Partee tournament at Gold Canyon, you missed the best year ending tournament we have ever had.  There is only one word to describe our year ending tournament; WOW!  Everyone was a winner.  Just so you know we had to turn away 33 golfers.  Every one of them attempted to register during the last week prior to the tournament date.  Believe me, we would have loved to accommodate each of you but the course had already book another tournament with ours.   Remember these famous words; NEXT YEAR!

I want to thank everyone who had an opportunity to participate in the Annual Partee 2007 tournaments especially Honeywell, IBM, Charles Schwab, Tad Loopies and the New AT&T volunteers.  Our Team building experience has been rewarding and a cost saving for all of us. We also want to give a BIG thank you to our guest as well. For the most part, we enjoyed ourselves and made a lot of new friends and built close relationships.  Stay tune for next year's tournament schedule.  Our tournaments will be more exciting and challenging.

Evebody admired how Ray and Todd wore matching outfits going into the final tournament. Chris Hain who is a new member of the DQ Team observed and commented on how closely knitted the DQ's were and wearing cute and matching outfits is testament of the DQ's morphizing into becoming, wait for it, wait for it,,,The Holywood Drama Queens.

Ed Anderson defended his golf swing says it was Tigeresque. No Ed! You need lessons. Hopefully you got one of the many free lessons that VOICE gave out. Man there were loads of prizes.

Thank You VOICE for the Excellent Tourney.

Thank You from V.O.I.C.E
The V.O.I.C.E. organization would like to say “THANKS” for making our inaugural fund raising golf tournament a great success. We had a great time meeting you all and sharing with you the V.O.I.C.E. message and purpose. Also, what a great day to play golf! The weather was absolutely perfect, the golf course was in great condition, and your participation and generosity were fabulous!
Through your participation in the tournament, and purchasing the various raffle tickets, you have donated just over $2000 to the organization. These funds will go a long way in helping us to move people off public assistance to living a more productive and self sustaining life style. Specifically, the proceeds from this tournament will help us take 20 people through our six month program. For more information about V.O.I.C.E., you can visit www.voicenonprofit.org .
Also, Ed and the ParTee committee, thank you for working with us and helping make this event a great success.

Letters to Sam Owen:

Dear Sam,
I played with these two brothers and one of them hit a rock as he tried to hit his ball from the desert. These guys thought that it was great showing off his battered club like it was a war club that has seen battles. His brother's clubs were not battered, you know, sissy-like and clean. I thought that having a war clubs was very admirable.
Signed, Warrior

Dear Jenny
Tell Tom that in Arizona, golfers are expected to play golf on the fairways and not in the desert. This keeps your golf clubs in good sissy-like condition to be used again and again on the golf course. War clubs are for new players like Eric Pelc, Gigi Mathews, and James Beeman. They Suck.
