All Annual ParTee Golf Club tournaments shall adhere to the following rules:
Our tournaments are 2 Player Low Net Best Ball format.
A players handicap index is applied according to individual hole handicap ratings on the score card. The lowest net score between the two players on a hole is the team score for that hole.
I. Local rules as declared by the host course for any given event
II. The following Annual ParTee Golf Club rules.
We play Ready Golf. Simply put, ready golf allows the golfers within a group to take their swings when each member of the group is ready to play. If you reach your ball and are ready to hit, while other members of your group are not yet prepared, then go ahead and hit. Please check out these guidelines for ready golf: ready golf
Both teams in a foursome must keep score for their own team and their opponents.
You must enter all scores on the scorecard. This means actual score and not +1 or +4 etc. If you scored an 8, write down 8 not +4.
Everyone must putt out. No gimmies
To speed up play, The Annual has applied two rules:
1. Out of bound rule: If a player hits the ball out-of-bound, the player drops their next ball from the point of entry where the ball went OB and hits their next shot with 1 stroke penalty.
Clarification for this rule: This rule was added so that golfers would have the option to drop their ball at the nearest relief point of entry. In most cases, this will save some player's strokes in the long run and it also speed up play. We prefer you take 1 penalty stroke dropping your ball back at the point of the out of bound shot.
2. Lost Ball rule: If a player cannot find his/her ball, the player will drop his next ball from the nearest relief area and take 1 stroke penalty.
Clarification for this rule: This rule was added so that golfers would not spend more than 5 minutes looking for their ball. If they didn't find their ball, they would have to go back to the spot they initially hit their ball with 1 stoke penalty and hit another ball. If they chose to drop their ball taking distance, this would be a 2 stroke penalty. In other words, 1 penalty stroke for distance and 1 penalty stroke for replacing the lost ball. This is a fun game and our objective is for everyone to have a good time. We prefer you take 1 penalty stroke dropping your ball back at the point of entry than holding up the rest of the teams behind your group. Understand, this is not a lateral drop. A lateral drop is taking distance plus the lost ball which is a 2 stroke penalty. We suggest you go back to the ball flight point of entry and drop your ball taking a 1 stroke penalty.
This is a Gentlemen and Ladies game. We trust the integrity of our participants. Have FUN.
Prize Related Rules:
The Prize Fund fee shall be $10.00 per player.
Both golfers on any team playing in an Annual ParTee Golf Club tournament must pay the Prize Fund fee, in order for the team to be eligible for Team Score prizes.
If either member of a team fails to pay into the Prize Fund before play begins, then the team is not eligible for Team Score prizes. The score of non participating teams shall not be considered in nor effect the rankings of the participating teams in prize determination.
Any individual player who has paid the Prize Fund fee prior to beginning of play, will be eligible for individual competition scores, regardless of whether the individual's partner has contributed to the Prize Fund. Individual prizes include but are not limited to: closest to the pin, longest drive, longest putt, closest drive to the line.
Distribution of Prize Fund will be determined by the tournament committee, taking into consideration the amount collected, the number of individual contest holes provided by the host course, the number of teams, and other relevant factoids.
Player Without a Partner:
Any player with out a partner will be paired with any other player without a partner, regardless of if they are playing in same group.
If a player remains without a partner, the player without a partner selects one of the other 2 playing in their group prior to the start of the tournament.
If the person selected chooses, they pay an additional $10 prize fee to be eligible for winnings as partner with the former player without a partner.
If the person selected declines, the APGC will put $10 into the prize fund, and APGC will receive 50% of any team winnings for that team.
